Our lives are becoming tedious with each passing day. Whether it be an employee or a student, everyone is having their deadlines which they are bound to meet. Our jobs also tend more towards indoors, in front of a screen, confined within four walls. Now, It is what that we do for a living or you can say to provide ourselves and our families with the requirements of living. So the primary motivation for these tedious jobs or routines is to be able to make a living. Now, what after that? What is that second thing which makes you believe that your dedication towards your job is worth it or which tells you that you should cling to this routine.? It’s like that “Chocolate” that our teachers and parents promised us while doing homework like “If you properly finish your homework you will get dairy milk!” That chocolate is not our ultimate goal, our main motive is to get educated but it’s the second thing that boosts our interest in the study and lifts our spirits. So in my life that particular “Chocolate” is Travelling!!!

Travelling works for me like checkpoints of life. Whenever I come back from a trip I decided to do something out of my comfort zone which will be related to my academics. I set a goal of learning that “Not my cup of tea” thing and in front of that I put some beautiful destination on my checklist that next time If I will achieve my academic goal or if I get 8.5+ SPI in my next end semester exams then I will reward myself with a trip on the decided beautiful destination. And the thought of Travelling to that particular destination gets me going through my journey until I achieve the goal. Now the question is that why travelling means so much to me that it makes me do the undoable?

Because when I travel I will be with my loved ones in a completely different environment where I will expose myself to the new surroundings and will get to learn about the diverse cultures. It almost makes me thoughtful in every single way. Wherever I go, I try my best to get up before the sunrise and go out for a walk alone without waking the others. Because in cities you don’t get to witness the morning to its fullest. While walking I observe the lives of locals, I click some pictures of beautiful landscapes. I also stop by some stranger to have a little chit-chat about the locality of that place. I find it extremely helpful in optimizing my communication skills and self-representation. Interacting with the locals also develops a bridge between me and that destination.

When It comes to experiencing some local delicacies I never turn back from trying it once, which sometimes also results in motion sickness in mountain regions but to be honest these odd experiences also makes a great memory of it. I am in my twenties now. So, most of my trips include friends from college or old school. And to travel with friends and manage everything like your baggage, your clothes, your essentials is a life skill which I think you can learn only after these trips. I never knew how to fold clothes properly or even how to pack a bag properly until I went out alone with friends. At home, mostly we all have Mom to manage everything for us, which kind of makes us lazy about our self. So the point is that Travelling for me is not only a fun activity but it’s also learning lessons which are not mentioned in many books. These lessons shape us into our-self and prepare us for the times which are ahead of us.

Also when it comes to spending money on trips as we all are from middle-class families and so we all have a fixed budget allowed by our parents or by our pocket, we learn to manage our expenses, we learn to bargain wherever we spend money so that we can cut some cost off which ultimately prepares us for cracking some of the best business deals of our lives.

So, overall travelling for me is a complete package of relaxation, healing therapy and learning practical lessons. Travelling also motivates me to level up. Travelling soothes my eyes with the exotic views and landscapes. Travelling gives me some of the best memories of my lifetime. And that is why I travel frequently (Mostly two times a year), That is the reason I Love Travelling!!

Beautiful landscape from my last trip to Sikkim.
